Netflix acquires rights to the original series "El Chavo del 8"

Following the positive public response to the documentary "Chespirito: sin querer queriendo", Netflix confirmed that "El Chavo del 8" will be part of its catalog starting August 11 , allowing fans and new viewers to relive the iconic comedy by Roberto Gómez Bolaños .

The announcement, made through the platform's social media channels, generated great expectations, as it involves more than 290 episodes originally broadcast between 1971 and 1980 , which can now be viewed on smart TVs, cell phones, tablets, or computers.

While the show is already available on ViX , where all episodes can be watched in full, full access requires a monthly subscription of 149 pesos or an annual fee of 999 pesos . ViX also offers a free version, but with limited content.

For its part, Netflix offers three plans:

Basic with ads (119 pesos)
Standard (249 pesos)
Premium (329 pesos)

All of them allow access to "El Chavo del 8," although users who wish to avoid ads should opt for the latter two options. There is no free trial, but the subscription can be canceled at any time.

The return of the so-called "number 1 comedy show on television" coincides with a season of new releases for Netflix, which will also include highly anticipated titles such as the second season of "Merlina," among other new releases.
